Knitting with Brandon

Brandon picked up knitting real quick. He did have trouble when he took it home and tried to do it. But then mom and dad don't knit so he had no one to help him when he turned around to do the next row. We need to get together again and work on it.

Spool Knitting

Colin wanted to learn to knit too. So we tried spool knitting. Not the kind I grew up with which was an empty wooden thread spool with four nails in one end, but a modern plastic one. He's pretty pleased with himself, as you can see in the picture. He's seated on my grandfather's rocking chair (Colin's grea-great-grandfather) that is over 100 years old. You can also see my grandmother's treadle sewing machine in this picture & our new bay window. We made a trivet for Colin's mom out of his knitting, but it later became a cover for one of his toy cars. He is a happy boy and we do enjoy having him around.
